3:16 THURSDAY::::week twelve

3:16 Thursdays is a series of blog posts focusing on the 3:16 passages throughout the Bible that have really stuck out to me in my studies from Genesis to Revelation.

Acts 3:16
(niv)
"By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see."

This verse captures the heart of Peter and John in the situation that they're faced with. After healing a disabled man, a crowd formed in awe of what Peter and John "did". Peter resisted the temptation of self-praise and reminded the people of Jesus and that the power to heal lies in the name of Jesus. Incredible moment for the disciples in their mission.

How easily I forget this. I have been getting very consistent, hard, even frightening and interesting life lessons in this over the past several months. I am STARTING to get through my head the the miracles and gifts my life has had and seen. Just this past week, I said to someone who is not a believer, that I have a gift, not a talent of 'mine'. What a talk we had! How that lit her up! But, boy, I am so slow to get things.... :)
