Music Monday 37

This is a post that you can participate in on every Monday. Everyone likes music, and there are obviously many tastes in music. This is here to see what different types of music are filling everyone's lives. Chime in!

My music era is the 90's & I have mixed feelings about it, so...

In your opinion, what's the worst era in music (70's, 80's, etc.)?

I think that each decade of music has shameful moments. I have to go with the pop boom of the late 90's. The corporate fueled and fabricated music that came out of that time was just gross and shameful. Justin Timberlake is probably trying desperately to forget that era, I hope.

your turn...

The worst music era is usually what came 10-18 years ago. At 10 years, we start to repudiate all the bad music from that era, by 18 years, we start to remember the stuff that was great.

I've seen it happen with the '60s, '70s, and the '80s, so I'm figuring we'll see the same thing again.

What I'm saying is, all those eras had bad boy bands.

I'm not going to give you an answer, not wanting to be overly critical or anything... :o)

Actually, across the different genre's of music there has always been something good. While you are correct in your assessment of late 90's pop, the 90's were a fantastic time for Country music, yet now that some corners of the pop world have come back quite nicely, the quality of Country music has fallen off considerably (not to say there aren't any bright spots here and there).
