Word Wednesday .::62

Word Wednesday is posted every Wednesday. Each week I post a scripture that I've read that week that has spoken to me in a fresh way. I believe that if we read God's Word every day, He will give us at least one scripture every week that will impact us. Sharing Scripture with each other is like iron sharpening iron. Leave a comment and share a scripture that has impacted you this week.

Here's the scripture that stuck this week:

Leviticus 8 The Message

"...just as God had commanded..."

Leviticus 10:1-2 The Message

1-2 That same day Nadab and Abihu, Aaron's sons, took their censers, put hot coals and incense in them, and offered "strange" fire to God—something God had not commanded. Fire blazed out from God and consumed them—they died in God's presence.

In chapter 8 you see the phrase "just as God had commanded" several times. Moses made that a priority, and God blessed the efforts. Then in chapter 10 Aaron's sons messed with some "strange fire" and got burned, because they did something other than God's command. Have you ever instructed someone on how to do something, and they decided to try their own way? Very frustrating, because you're trying to help them succeed. God feels the same way when we divert from the plan He's made. If we're not careful, we'll get burned by our strange fire.

What's your Word?

John 4:23 -- Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.

I heard someone teach on this verse that it is important to note that the Father is seeking worshipers and not worship. He knows that we become like what we worship so He gives us His best by requiring that we worship Him.
