Word Wednesday .::55

Word Wednesday is posted every Wednesday. Each week I post a scripture that I've read that week that has spoken to me in a fresh way. I believe that if we read God's Word every day, He will give us at least one scripture every week that will impact us. Sharing Scripture with each other is like iron sharpening iron. Leave a comment and share a scripture that has impacted you this week.

Here's the scripture that stuck this week:

Genesis 19:15-17 The Message

15 At break of day, the angels pushed Lot to get going, "Hurry. Get your wife and two daughters out of here before it's too late and you're caught in the punishment of the city."

16-17 Lot was dragging his feet. The men grabbed Lot's arm, and the arms of his wife and daughters—God was so merciful to them!—and dragged them to safety outside the city. When they had them outside, Lot was told, "Now run for your life! Don't look back! Don't stop anywhere on the plain—run for the hills or you'll be swept away."

I could be really hard and judgmental towards Lot here, but that would be hypocritical of me. I can think of times when God has instructed me, but I would drag my feet. It's amazing how much mercy God has on Lot in this story, but it's even more amazing how much mercy God has for me. I know my heart, and God knows it more.

What's your Word?
