Word Wednesday .::35

Word Wednesday is posted every Wednesday. Each week I post a scripture that I've read that week that has spoken to me in a fresh way. I believe that if we read God's Word every day, He will give us at least one scripture every week that will impact us. Sharing Scripture with each other is like iron sharpening iron. Leave a comment and share a scripture that has impacted you this week.

Here's the scripture that stuck this week:

Luke 6:27-31

But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.

29 To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either.

30 Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back.

31 And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.

I am really enjoying Jesus' teaching more than I ever have. Not because its easy or fluffy. His teaching is really challenging to everything. It's easy for us to get caught in a survivalist, self-preserving mind-set, but Jesus doesn't teach that way. For me, personally, His teaching motivates me to give more than take or preserve.

What's your Word?
