Compassion Art

Just wanted to help broadcast about a great new project called Compassion Art. Some of the greatest songwriter/worship artists out there came together to do something about social justice and world poverty. They decided to do what they do best: write great worship songs. The beauty of it is that they are getting $0 from this project. All of the revenue raised from this project goes to Compassion Art. The songwriters have completely waived the royalties and copyright and donated it all to Compassion Art. Click here to find out more. It's on Itunes...I'm gonna go download it now.

I think that is really a great project, fighting poverty is a noble thing. I have to ask though, what do you mean by social justice? I know what the phrase actually means. It's a Marxist ideal, and with Marxism being based in an atheist philosophy, I do tend to bristle at such things. I think that as Christians we need to reject such non-Biblical principles and the vernacular associated with them.

by social justice, I mean bringing justice to things that are just wrong, like poverty, sex trafficking, and helping others that need it. I didn't mean anything political. I guess just a sincere, selfless concern for others. I'm sure I'll have more examples after I get back from Africa.

Well, I figured as much, I just think that we need to be very careful choosing our words... but I'll let you off the hook and not go into all that right now... but as a "for instance" Speaktopia appears to be rooting for world poverty... just an observation...
