Here's the scripture that stuck this week:
Ezekiel 36:22, 32 ESV
22 Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came.
32 It is not for your sake that I will act, declares the Lord God; let that be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.
If we're not careful, we can actually start thinking that the reason God does what He does is all about us. It's not. I've heard John Piper say that, "God is the most God-centered person in the world." We can't forget what it's all about, and it's not all about us. It's all about God's glory. We just happen to be the ones he blesses through that process and obedience.
What's your Word?
