Movie Monday VI

This is a post that you can participate in on every Monday. I'm a big fan of the cinema, so I decided to break up the Monday blues by talking about movies.

Tomorrow is the anticipated release date of The Dark Knight on DVD. This is possibly the biggest movie of the year. It was so nice, I saw it twice in theater. It's definitely the darkest of all the Batman flicks. So, this morning, we had a discussion in our office about the best Batman flick, so, that's what I want to hear from you.

What is the very best Batman movie and why?

Mine would have to be a tie between the first Michael Keaton one and The Dark Knight. You really can't compare the two, because they're completely different styles, but both of them were ground-breaking to the Batman genre. Both had totally original and unforgettable portrayals of the Joker, but both completely different from each other.

your turn...

Mine would have to be Batman Returns. I love Michael Keaton and Michelle Pfeiffer and I felt they had good chemistry.

Don't get me started on the new one. It's a good movie but it's not the amazing movie everyone wants to make it into.

Dark Knight all the way.

Batman Begins. Textbook reboot of a tired franchise.
The original Michael Keaton movie was really good just because it took that whole Frank Miller vibe and put it on screen. But they went downhill fast after that.

I haven't had a chance to see Dark Knight yet, but Batman Begins was great.

The original with Keaton was decent, but still pretty silly, Batman Begins was terrible, while Batman Forever was OK, but still silly, and Batman and Robin was such a horrific disaster that it should hereafter never be mentioned again...
