Worship Confessional 10.26.08

We had an awesome day today. We took a glimpse at eternity, and we sang one of my least favorite worship songs. Pretty cool, huh?

Here's the set list with Itunes links:

Everlasting God - Brenton Brown
Blessed Assurance - Fanny Crosby
Glorious Day - Todd Agnew
I Can Only Imagine - Mercy Me

Have you ever done something completely out of obedience, that you didn't prefer in a worship service?

This is also a part of Sunday Setlist.

Yep! I've played songs that God has lead me to play that I just couldn't stand! Interestingly, "I Can Only Imagine" is also one that I don't like (anymore), but I've never lead! ;-)

everytime i go sing a song @ our 55+ worship night called "Singspiration". the songs i sing/lead/conduct are never very fun, but the people have learned to love me and some of the songs i like bc of it. it's an obedience thing definitely.

Hey Gary! Hope all is well on the space coast. Our group loves How Great is Our God and if it were up to me, I would have retired it a while ago... but every time I dust it off for them, several people make a point to tell me how much they love it. :)

I have to say, I Can Only Imagine surprised me. I actually love the song, but never thought of it as a congregational song. It worked really well though, I just never would have expected it to.

yes, I have knelt while i led on a Sunday and I wasn't crazy about that - it was uncomfortable and awkward feeling but I felt God said do it so I did. I love to kneel and worship but leading that way is sort of weird......but oh well! I also just felt self conscious.

I also use songs sometimes I'm not crazy about when led.

Sometimes I've led worship out of obedience when I'd rather have walked off the stage and found a corner to dissolve on the floor and just cry. Is that what you meant!?
