Word Wednesday .::11

Word Wednesday is posted every Wednesday. Each week I post a scripture that I've read that week that has spoken to me in a fresh way. I believe that if we read God's Word every day, He will give us at least one scripture every week that will impact us. My hope is to see others comment and share a scripture that they have read.

Here's the scripture that stuck this week:

Isaiah 40:8 ESV

"The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever."

Last night, as I pulled into my driveway, I looked at my yard. It doesn't look bad, but there's a lot of weeds in the midst of all the grass. My first impulse, was, "I've got to take care of those weeds". I don't think there's anything wrong with taking care of what you've got, but you've got to remember that all the stuff we have is very temporary. In that brief moment, I was a little concerned with the state of my yard, but I quickly remembered that it's not a huge priority in my life, nor should it be. The state of my heart has got to be on my mind. The Word of God should be on my mind. No matter how much weed and feed I put on my grass, it will wither away one day. If the Word of God is not on my mind, then that is where weeds can pop up even more, and that's got to be a huge concern for me.

What's your Word?

Jeremiah 1:7-9
7 The Lord replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. 8 And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the Lord, have spoken!” 9 Then the Lord reached out and touched my mouth and said,
“Look, I have put my words in your mouth!

That really got to me not just that he is younger because he was like under 13 here, but that he can just talk to God like that the two are just talking. That’s where its at, that’s where I want to be. I want to be sitting there and God just say go and I do it, and if im a little worried then he gives me that little push. Can you imagine Gods hand coming and touching your mouth that’s awesome. But whats even cooler then that is that its old testament he did have the sprite like we do it should be that much easier for us. So here we are Gods telling us to go are you listening it doesn’t mean we have to leave the country or even the FLA but when he tells us to talk to that person or pray for some one just do it he will give out the words. That’s what I got out of all that.

1 Corinthians 1:1-3
"Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, to the church of God which is at Corinth, to those
who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ."

I read a daily devotional and the part that really stuck out to me this week was the main idea concerning leadership and the leaders ability to speak out. It also dealt with the proper attitude and behavior of that leader as he speaks out.

Main thought:
"But the Lord uses strong leaders to correct His people, courageous leaders who can speak the truth in love."

I've been hanging out a bit in Exodus 33-34 considering Moses response to the Lord.......Moses would not move without the presence of God, even if his dreams of the Promised Land were fulfilled. Just chewing on that lately.
