Word Wednesday .::6

Word Wednesday is posted every Wednesday. Each week I post a scripture that I've read that week that has spoken to me in a fresh way. I believe that if we read God's Word every day, He will give us at least one scripture every week that will impact us. My hope is to see others comment and share a scripture that they have read.

Here's the scripture that stuck this week:

Proverbs 20:24 ESV

"A man's steps are from the Lord;
how then can man understand his way?"

This verse reminded me about God's sovereign plan for my life. I can be somewhat of a control freak, so I like to know what's coming around the corner if possible. God has really taken me on a journey working in and out of the church, and He's constantly surprising me. One thing I've learned is that if I all the things that God planned for me, I probably would chicken out altogether. Ignorance is bliss, and ignorance can be a blessing. We've just got to trust God and follow Him intensely and He will take us to where we're meant to be. Even if we don't understand every step of the journey.

What's your Word?

Something struck me greatly this morning as I was reading. It was kind of an obscure verse - but really hit me. It was this: "And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground." (1 Samuel 3:19)

It really hit me how important it is that "the Lord is with us" when we are communicating with people so that "none of" our words "fall to the ground."

Good stuff!
